About Care Ministry Support Group- Centering Prayer (Led by Joy Grace)
What is centering prayer? Centering prayer is practice of praying without words. In Centering Prayer, we open our awareness to God's Spirit within us by sitting in receptive silence...just as Jesus taught us:
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Mathew 6:6
When we regularly practice praying in silence, the presence of the Holy Spirit becomes a discernible companion who resides in our hearts ( our "inner room"). The deepening of our relationship with God becomes evident in every part of our being.
You are welcome to join us on Monday AM.(year-round) Each gathering starts with a 20 minute prayer of silence followed by group, prayerful reflections on scripture or other literature that lead us into a deeper relationship to God.
